Hello all,
I have finally finished up my handouts for my university's recruitment office. Through this process I learned so much about the importance of stakeholders. If you want to read more about that, check out my previous articles in the OU's Recruitment Services Series.
One of the biggest challenges through this process was tackling Adobe Photoshop. This was my first time really diving into all these wonderful, yet extensive features. It was honestly very overwhelming at first. When you have the possibility to do virtually anything, it can be so hard to do the one thing you need to! I won't lie to you and say there weren't a few frustration meltdowns, but I will say that it was SO worth it! The more I tackled obstacles, the more I wanted to learn and the more I learned, the more excited I got about all the things I could create.
So, if you've never used Adobe Photoshop before, be prepared to struggle a bit, but don't let that keep you from jumping in! This tool may be difficult to use, but once you get comfortable with it, you feel like a graphic design wiz! Now, here's my one VERY IMPORTANT tip that makes navigating this software a hundred times easier- watch YouTube videos. I am normally not the person to take the time to look something up. I feel like it's faster if I just figure it out myself, right? WRONG. This software is very extensive, so please, save yourself a melt-down and watch a few introductory videos. You will learn so much more than you think. Check out this video, 25 Photoshop Tips and Tricks from Nathanial Dodson.
