Business Card Drafts

I want to point out that there are a few things you need to do before jumping into designing. First and foremost is research, including researching the competitors. You can learn a lot from their style and wording and how their designs impact business. When you're looking at competitors designs and campaigns think about what you like, what works and what you would do differently.

Another thing you'll want to do is visualize a communications strategy. A communication strategy is basically an overall branding plan you develop for a company as a whole. What overall message and feelings do you want to convey with your organization? You need to have a set plan and design that portrays this message so everything from business cards to commercials are cohesive and are all contributing to one central message. To help your design process, you may want to make some Pinterest boards to draw inspiration from. For this project, I made an inspiration board with examples of other companies' business cards, campaigns and other designs to reference. I also made a mood board with scenes, elements and aesthetics that I felt fit the feeling I was trying to convey with my design. Sometimes designing can be overwhelming and you can lose focus of the main goal or message. Having something to go back and look at can be a life saver!
